WHAT IS THIS .NET?
WEBSITE
for 10 years i've been documenting UK
underground music & art
This website is a peek into my archive

ARTISTS
Here are some artists I feel deserve more love and platform.

FUN
: images, galleries, videos, BTS, links, audio, products, gifs, free downloads, documents, words, tables, lists, file uploads.
....No other social media site allows flexibility in publicity!

CREATIVITY
A celebration of art.

ADVENTURE
A place to help promote cool people who've entertained me.

. Current social media sites are lowest common denominator.
What do I mean by that ?
For example : youtube don't allow you to change your video file ...that's whack......so if i've spelt someone's name wrong on the credits I can't reupload a video with a corrected credit..
.........whereas on here i have ultimate control over the delivery of the video file.
Twitter doesn't allow you to edit tweets if you've made a spelling mistake etc etc...
Other reasons to change is ever the changing goalposts, algorithms, artificially limiting reach, pay-to-play, censorship seeded content, and sponsored misery.
This stuff we've seen change since the early days of social media.
I remember when on Myspace you could post a bulletin and everyone would see it, regardless. It made for a more interesting time. Top 8? HTML? Tom?
TALENT
Delivering mixed-media content for a new audience

ORIGINAL ART
WHY DID I MAKE THIS SITE ?
I wanted away from the advert-led social media sites
to work on something more original and fulfulling
Lots of us grew up using the world-wide-web around 2000...
Back then we enjoyed blossoming website design, flash-html, autoplaying music, fun unpredictable content, creative page interactivity, soundboards, chronological forums, and hyperlinks!
....I kind of feel that's what i've gone for here.
web 1.0 again
a homage to websites of days gone:
Myspace, Shockwave.com, Ebaumsworld, Miniclip
[Tbh, i was unimpressed with the throwaway nature of social media - i wanted a new home for all the awesome art created around me]

FUTURE OF THE SITE
So much more homegrown independent content lined up!!
Lots of ideas to develop too :
photography, livestream, interviews, art reviews, live forum, blogging, free downloads, and potentially PILOT 2 in a few months!!
Aimng to collaborate with more directors and designers.
NO SPONSORED POSTS!
(so don't bother asking!)
